There were celebrations in the Armco office as our accreditation to the Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme (CHAS) was reviewed and marked as compliant.

CHAS are dedicated to completing health and safety pre-qualification assessments for both suppliers and buyers to a nationally recognised and accepted threshold standard, with the aim of:

• improving health and safety standards across Great Britain;
• reducing duplicated safety applications for both suppliers and buyers;
• enabling suppliers to easily show compliance with important parts of health and regulations;
• reducing inconsistencies where some suppliers may be judged compliant by one buyer but not another;
• giving guidance on any weaknesses in a supplier’s safety management, including how they can improve and;
• allowing both suppliers and buyers to save both time and resources and;
• on achieving compliance, a supplier is approved to work for all of CHAS’s buyers.

In essence this accreditation means that you can employ Armco to undertake asbestos related works for you, safe in the knowledge that they have been assessed by the UK’s leading health and safety pre-qualification assessors. The assessment involves the analysis of our certification, supplier and sub-contractor certification and monitoring, environmental policy and procedures, risk assessment and method statement and induction and training records.
